Monsoons are coming in and Posh or Affordable every home needs to be prepared.  Both apartments and villas in the little state of Goa are at risk for damage as the monsoon onslaught hits Goa. Coming hand in hand with the heavy rains against the exterior of you apartments during the monsoons will be the cold and musty moisture that wrecks havoc in inside. Here are some monsoon tips for your home to make sure you have a healthier monsoon this year around in Goa

Professional Help: Your home needs to be checked for Cracks and other problems that could cause a leakage during the monsoons. Filling the cracks of your apartment or villa walls with modified water proof mortar and sealing it can help you avoid damp walls or a leaking roof.

Roof Insulation: Insulating your roof helps maintain a warmer temperature during the cold monsoons. On an additional note it also helps maintain a cooler temperature during the summers.

Replacing Damaged Tiles is a must do during monsoons lest water seeps into the house and damage the walls

Window and Door Frames: Ensure that the frames are water tight and well-sealed to avoid water seeping in from the loose areas.

Paint Exterior: Painting the exterior of the house fortifies the outer walls before the onset of the monsoons can ensure minimal damage to the interiors.

Installation of ventilators in the damp area allows for plenty of air movement around the flat and avoids moisture buildup.

Electrical Connection: Exposed wires or faulty Electrical connections can spell a disastrous catastrophe during monsoons and needs to be taken care of on priority basis.

Pests Check: the moist environment of the monsoons is a breeding ground for pests, most notoriously termites. Polish the floors and furniture and leave either Camphor or neem leaves in between clothes to keep away pests.
